Planticide

The sapling had rallied at first. There had even been a flower or two.
It now lay dead in a bin bag on the side of the curb. A withered branch sticking out like a broken bone from between his shirts.
At the time he had thought it a wonderful idea for a gift.
“It will grow as our love does” he had written smugly on the card.
She had even had the locks changed.
He should have gone for the edible underwear.

  1. Congrats on the Caferati win. I was there yesterday, but they didn’t announce the results then. And didn’t check online today.

    ‘Planticide’ is good. Specially the image of the withered plant on the curb. A short film.
